Isel Otero-Vera

Isel Otero-VeraIsel Otero-Vera currently works at The Food Trust coordinating policy advocacy projects that support Farm to Early Childhood Education (ECE) across Pennsylvania. Such regional projects include the promotion of local food purchasing for school meals, community food vouchers, gardening, nutrition and agriculture education.In partnership with the Pennsylvania Head Start Association, she coordinated a statewide task force and regional learning collaboratives to identify strategies for advancing Farm to ECE practices and racial equity in Pennsylvania. Isel has also implemented on-the-ground SNAP-ed Farm to ECE programming in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley Region.Prior to joining The Food Trust, Isel coordinated a food access program in San Juan, Puerto Rico and a sustainable farming entrepreneurship program in Kerala, India.Isel holds a Masters in Public Policy and Administration degree from Rutgers University. She is originally from Puerto Rico and has been living in the city of Philadelphia for over 3 years.
