The City of Philadelphia has enacted the “Promoting Healthy Families and Workplaces” law, which entitles employees to paid and unpaid leave. Employees became eligible to accrue time starting May 13, 2015.
Employers are now required by law to notify their employees that they are entitled to sick time. The information must be posted and made available in any handbooks distributed to employees.
In Summer 2017, the Philadelphia Food Policy Advisory Council’s Workforce and Economic Development Subcommittee finalized infographics that illustrate how the law works for both employees and employers. Click the thumbnails below to view them!
